El-Sayed’s Aging Affordably in America plan would end Medicare cost-sharing, strengthen Social Security, and expand support for aging at home.
They deserve Medicare that covers all their health needs, Social Security they can live on, and a home they can afford to stay in.
WHAT HE HAS SAID
- Proposes ending Medicare premiums, deductibles, and co-pays so seniors get first-dollar coverage, and expanding coverage for vision, dental, and hearing.
- Supports expanding Medicare drug-price negotiation to all drugs paid by Medicare and banning AI-based prior authorization that overrides physician judgment.
- Supports repealing the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset that cut Social Security for many public employees.
- Supports lifting the Social Security payroll-tax cap and ending federal taxes on Social Security benefits.
- Proposes a federal framework for state property-tax freezes for homeowners 65 and older so they can afford to age in place.
- Would work to expand Medicaid home- and community-based services, end the financing bias toward nursing homes over home care, and support family caregivers.
